important notes: Projects must include clearly defined milestones with Go/No-Go criteria; experimental intervention in humans is required; no limit on project duration but typically around three years
Ineligible Projects: Biomarker discovery; observational studies without experimental intervention; development of therapeutics, diagnostics, or devices; pre-clinical model development; clinical efficacy trials
Objectives: To advance understanding of disease mechanisms and generate insights that can inform future therapeutic development
